It was spring of the year, my relationship with my girlfriend had sadly waned. I could picture that rushing Rio Aragon, along with my sense of loss. That memory returned 12 years ago as we (my wife, not my girlfriend)drove along the Aragon near the Pyrenees. That recollection of a momento of pathos in my life was not one I could very easily share with my wife. "Do you remember..." lives as its own richness. She says that one of her teachers in Primary School gave it to her in England. Clearly this poem meant something to her as over 20 years later she remebered it enough to name me. She says that when she read it she knew she would name her daughter Miranda, and here I am. I am a bit sad to say though that upon doing a Google search for this poem, only three sites were found. Only the high peaks hoar And Aragon a torrent at the door. Let's hope that doesn't come true. I too retain this poem from long-ago English classes and I can't measure how it's made me a more productive person, but I would definitely be poorer without it. Never more, Miranda,

I've been waiting a long time for something. Originally I thought it might have been a bus, but if that's all that I've got coming, it'd be pretty disappointing. After all, I've caught a lot of buses in my time, not to mention trains, the odd ferry, and even the occassional plane. Have I digressed a little here? Probably. But anyway, I think that 'order' is pretty over-rated - or maybe that's just the anarchist in me speaking (?) Hi LL … I’ve been waiting a long time for something. Sigh.  But the weird thing is this - the higher number isn't actually a better score.  I played a round of golf once (don't know why it's called a "round"; more like a spiral, but maybe that's just the geometry for my style).  The other three golfers who had their own sticks all scored under 50, whilst I clocked up over 200!  Somehow they thought they had actually beaten me.  Go figure ....
