APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP
OF LIBRARY BOARD


Thank you for your interest in joining our Library Administration Board. Complete all the questions below and tally your score as shown. Only applicants who achieve greater than 40 will be considered.

1. EXPERIENCE
Have you ever worked in a library?
  • Never (3 points)
  • Less than 2 weeks (2 points)
  • More than 2 weeks (1 point)
  • Need clarification of the word "library" (10 points)
2. QUALIFICATIONS
Do you have library certification from:
  • A graduate course (1 point)
  • A college course (2 points)
  • A course you found in the back of a TV guide (3 points)
  • You didn't know that people went to school for this (10 points)
3. PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP
Do you belong to, or are eligible for membership of:
  • ALA or other national professional library organisation (1 point)
  • A state or regional library organisation (1 point)
  • A local group, which you convened or organised (1 point)
  • Any extremist right-wing political organisation (10 points)
4. PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
Score one point for each of the list below that applies to you:
  • need to have a large office
  • need to have a reserved parking space
  • must have your own executive bathroom
  • believe that you are charismatic, but can't produce any personal references
  • have been unjustly accused of losing books
  • have been unfairly subjected to overdue fines
5. CONTRIBUTION TO BOARD
If you are successful, would you:
  • give at least one hour per month to staff concerns (1 point)
  • provide at least one policy document a month (10 points)
  • restructure something every month (20 points)
