Note: The opinions expressed herein are solely those of the author. Any resemblance to real librarians (living or dead, or somewhere in between) or real libraries, may be a coincidence - but probably not.
Biblia, the Warrior Librarian, was created by A.B.Credaro. The practice of Warrior Librarianship is common, and therefore quite possibly in the public domain. As such, it is likely to be exempt from any copyright restrictions. However, this does not limit Warrior Librarian Weekly, its agents, employees, heirs, spouses, family pets, or others connected with the zine, from trying to make an easy buck from its use.
Universal permission is granted to any website to create a link to any page on this site. Notification of such links is appreciated, but not mandatory. In other words, this would be nice, but you don't have to.
All material on this site was written by A.B. Credaro unless otherwize stated. Requests for permission to publish or circulate any content should be directed to same.

Be aware, but not alarmed
The WLW Research team has cautioned against panic, following an apparently aqueus thread running through our literary culture. It is uncertain at this stage whether there is a connection between this being the International Year of Fresh Water, and the designated theme of the Australian Book Week festivities, "Oceans of Stories".
However, with September 19 recently identified as the official Talk Like a Pirate Day, we are currently running the web site backwards to see if there are any subliminal messages embedded in it ...

First Aid For Libraries
Everyone should learn first aid, and every library should have someone trained in advanced CPR and EAR, as well as AACR2. (Which, although not exactly life-saving, is still pretty important.)
WLW is proud to present some library-specific first aid tips, for the next time someone leaves a resuscitation mannequin on your library floor ...

WLW Reader |
Research has shown that the average librarian will take 5-10 minutes to read this web page. Anecdotal evidence is suggesting that many librarians fear they do not have enough time to investigate the humor links. The majority of the 90+ original library humor items in the Humor Index are designed to take less than 2 minutes to read.
However, if you choose to hang around there for hours reading them all, then re-reading them, then WLW cannot take any responsibility. You now have the choice of using the genetically unmodified Alphabetical Index or the dolphin-safe Dewey Version. Caffeine-free version has been temporarily canned, pending an FDA investigation ...
MOST POPULAR BIBLIA PAGES TO DATE:
Caution: Will open in new window ...
The popular feature Column 8, in The Sydney Morning Herald recently cited one of the many significant research findings of the Warrior Librarian. Up until that date, the newspaper had been a highly respected broadsheet ...
Only five weeks left until the Warrior Librarian delivers the keynote address for the M.E.M.O. Fall Conference in North Dakota,USA. Some seats may still be left, if you hurry. The significance of this event is also noted by the Children's Literature Network.
If you miss that one, you'll have to wait until June, 2004 for the S.L.A.Q. conference in Queensland, Australia.
Can't get to North Dakota, and can't wait until June next year? Maybe you can get to the Information Literacy conference in Queanbeyan. Although Biblia won't be appearing in person, you can still benefit from her words of wisdom (or spiteful invective, depending on your point of view) in the pre-conference reading.
That august institution, School of Library and Information Science at the College of Mass Communications and Information Studies, University of South Carolina, has included Biblia's semi-tome on Collection Evaluation for the edification of their students ...
Also from the world of academia, the Faculty of Information Science (University of Toronto) has notified the world via their New Acquisitions page that they have now purchased a copy of Biblia's Guide.
The math teaching portal, Geometry Net have elected to feature the paper by A.B. Credaro on The Instructional Use of Children's Literature. Why they chose this one over Biblia's Maths Fiction Titles is beyond us ...
Meanwhile, over at LISNews, the excellent Blake Carver (no relation) has widened the publicity net for Biblia's Guide in an effort to help keep the book's Amazon ranking up to 90,000.
This week saw the delivery of a very nice email from Jason Pollack, personal assistant to (the) Michael Moore. Jason apologised profusely for the delay in getting back to us, and promised that he would get back in touch if Michael gave further consideration to our request. Unfortunately, we can't remember what the original query was ....

WLW ORIGINAL INFORMATION RESEARCH |
Following last edition's disclosure on WLW's unique perspective on the extinction of trilobites, further Internet searches into palaeontology have uncovered the phenomenon of Our Brachiopod Brothers. Whilst not actually extinct, it's no wonder they now lurk about in rock pools, afraid to show their faces, what with all the allegations about church people. Even the articulate ones don't seem to have much to say at the moment ....

Despite many unexpressed concerns, rest assured that Warrior Librarian Weekly will continue to generate, rather than only report, news. And if there isn't anything we can bend, twist or modify, then we will continue making it up.(Except for the International Library News Bloglet, which doesn't really count as no-one read it anyway.)

Pravda (the Russian one, not the one put out by your local library board) has an interesting slant on Harry Potter vs the People. Maybe there are too many vowels in the book, or something ...
Multi-billionaire author Robert Harris spills his guts (not literally, because it would be tacky of us to report it) to the New Scotsman on his new and upcoming novels ...
Law librarians meeting in Australia are reported as doing their part in bucking the stereotype ...
USA Today (the website, not the geographic location at the present time) runs a good story on Google. If you read through far enough, you get to the part about , but you have to force yourself to read past the working conditions at the Googleplex ....
Meanwhile, in Canada, Parliament Hill all but shuts down due to energy conservation measures. Only essential staff were on duty - including library services. Let's hope they remember that when salaries are being reviewed ...
